Tatou is French for armadillo: the mammal famous for its structure made up of plates of bone covered with a protective layer of horn.Designed by Patricia Urquiola, the Tatou series was inspired by antique Japanese armour.The lights ‘shell’ shade protects direct light to the eyes and produces a harmonic play on light and shadow through the perforated sections. It is both a decorative item and a practical lighting product.
