Designed by Isamu NoguchiManufactured by VitraDuring Noguchi’s design process, a total of over 100 hand-made Shoji-paper models for his collection were created. Noguchi chose the name ‘akari’, as this word connotes brightness and light in his native Japanese. The Akari BB3-55DD Floor Lamp is created from washi paper and bamboo ribbing and is supported by a metal frame. The lamp accommodates up to a 60 watt bulb.
